Insurance Related
Will Medicare cover the cost of the Geo Cruiser?
Medicare and Medicaid will not cover the Geo Cruiser at this time as it is not coded for Medicare or Mediciad. The Geo Cruiser is an FDA cleared medical device and private insurance carriers may provide partial or full reimbursement. We reccomend that you contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage. In most cases they will provide somwe form of reimbursement.
As an option we do provide 0% financing and other finance programs up to 60 months.
Will my private insurance pay the Geo Cruiser?
You will have to contact your insurance carrier to find out if they will reimburse you for the purchase of a mobility transportaion aid. We have been told that some people have been fully or partially reimbursed for their purchase.
Safety and FDA Compliance
Are the Geo Cruiser DX, LX and Elite EX "Cleared' by the FDA for safety?
Yes. All models have received 510K Pre-Market Approval. All manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs are required to have a 510K PMA. Don't be mislead by companies claiming that their products are not medical devices and just mobility aids not requiring this clearance. You can contact the FDA and ask them if a particular competing product is required to have clearance.
What makes the Geo Cruiser safer than competing lightweight and foldable electric wheelchairs?
The Geo Cruiser has been cleared by the FDA for safety. It has been awarded what is calld a 510K. This is a magor difference that should be a big part of your decision making process. Some products even claim to be FDA but are not, while others try to get around this by claiming not to be a medical device, but instead a mobility aid. You can call the FDA or contact them by email to asked about the product you are considering.
Having FDA clearance means that the product has been closely reviewed to be at minimum equivelant to an exisiting product that is marketed with FDA 510K clearance.

Do you offer any Financing?
Yes, we offer financing through TimePayment, a third-party finace company. Through them, the following programs are available:

What Kind of payment plans do you offer?
Depending on the model you select, we can provide payment plans as low as $58.00 per month. This is great, considering that renting a power chair or scooter can cost as much as $50-$70 a day.

What makes the Geo Cruiser better than its competitors?
There are a few reasons why the Geo Cruiser is superior in design, functionality and safety. For one, in an industry where over 90% of the lightweight foldable travel chairs are not FDA cleared, which is a violation, the Geo cruiser has been fully cleared by the FDA and awarded a 510k.

How much weight will the Geo Cruiser models support?
The Geo Cruiser DX will support up to 270 lbs., while the Geo Cruiser LX and Elite EX models will support up to 350 lbs.
How easy is it to fold and unfold the Geo Cruiser DX and Geo Cruiser Elite EX models?
Very easy. In fact, they can both be folded or unfolded in a matter of seconds.
Can I use the Geo Cruiser DX and Geo Cruiser Elite EX indoors and well as outdoors?
Yes. The Geo Cruiser DX and the Geo Cruiser Elite EX are both indoor/outdoor personal mobility devices.
What kind of seat covers are used?
The seat and backrest covers are made of durable synthetic nylon material. Both covers are washable and can easily be replaced. We also use a comfort-rest cushion on both covers.
Does the Geo Cruiser DX and Elite EX models have a Free-Wheel function?
Yes. Both come with Free-wheel and can be pushed when needed.
What kind of motor does the Geo Cruiser DX and Geo Cruiser Elite EX models use?
All Geo Cruiser models use advanced "Brushless" motors. The Geo Cruiser DX has two 180 watt motors, and the Elite EX has two 180 watt motors.
Does the Geo Cruiser come with Anti-Tip wheels?
Yes in fact they are retractable Anti-Tip wheels.

How many miles will I get on a full battery charge?
For both the Geo Cruiser DX and Geo Cruiser Elite EX we find that the battery allows the user to go up to 15 miles depending on the following:
1. The weight of a person
2. The number of ramps you go up
3. The type of terrain you drive on
What is the life expectancy of the battery?
The lithium-ion battery for the Geo Cruiser supports up to 500 charging cycles. Therefore, the life-cycle of the battery will fully depend on user management of charging of the battery, in addition to how the battery is stored . We do not recommend charging the battery unless the user feels that either the battery is low, or that they will need to charge it to support an upcoming outing . Some customers have reported the battery lasting up to four years.

Why do the Geo Cruisers have an anodized finished as opposed to paint?
Although anodizing is more expensive, we opted for this finish as it is aesthetically richer and provided added protection aginst corrosion and scuffs for a more durable chair.
What kind of Temperatures can the Battery and Electronics withstand?
Do not store or operate the Geo Cruiser in temperatures below 0 Farrenheit (-17 degrees to 32 degrees Celcius). , this can cause discharge or damage to the battery. It is also importnant that you never store the battery in direct sunlight. It is ok to stote the battery in the trunk or your car or in a van or SUV hatchback on a hot day.
The recommended temperatures for the electronics are -49 degrees to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (-45 degrees to 65 degrees Celcius)

Air Travel Questions
Can the Geo Cruiser be taken on a commercial airplane?
The Geo Cruiser DX and the Geo Cruiser Elite EX both meet FAA and DOT regulations for safe air travel. However, you will need to have two documents for air travel. They are:
1. MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet)
2. UN38.3 Test Report
We can provide these two documents via email. We strongly recommend that you contact the airline before traveling to check for any changes in their travel policy, and to provide documentation prior to air travel. This will make for a smooth flight.
Do I have to remove the batteries from the device prior to boarding?
This is at the discretion of the airlines. Most customers report that they did not have to remove the batteries.
What is the voltage and amps of the batteries?
All models have two (2) 24 Volt 8Ah batteries.

Travelling Tips?
Although the Geo Cruiser batteries meet U.S govenment regualtion for safe air travel, more specifically each battery does not exceed 300 watt hours. Each airline reserves the right to make a decision governing these regualions at their own discretion. To date we have not recieved any reports of any travellers having an issue when travelling with the Geo Cruiser. We do recommend that you contact the airline before travelling. To avoid any problems. Furthemore we suggest that you inquire if there is a department that you forward the battey Material Safty Data Sheet (MSDS) and UN38.3 test report.
Battery
What kind of battery is used for the Geo Cruiser?
They both use Lithium ION batteries, the latest in battery technology. The benefits of lithium batteries versus the traditional Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) is:
1. Lithium batteries last 2-3 times longer in life cycle.This means you won't have to replace them as often as SLA batteries.
2. Lithium batteries are much lighter than SLA batteries. The battery on the GEO Cruiser only weighs 4 lbs. Most SLA batteries weigh between 15-30 lbs.
3. The lithium batteries we used meet the Department of Transportation guidlines for safe air travel. Some people actually ride the Geo Cruiser all the way to the boarding terminal, fold it, and have the baggage attendent take it directly on the plane.
4. Lithium batteries retain their charge much better than SLA when not in use.

The lithium-ion batteries have been tested by international testing labs and we have a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for each battery model. The batteries have also been tested in accordance to the United Nations (UN38.3) testing requirements. We can provide a copy of the UN38.3 Test Report.

All Geo Cruiser models are now equipped with two 8Ah batteries for a total of 16Ah. More battery power than all other competing products.

Using the Geo Cruiser

Yes. You can go up a 12 degrees ramp or slope.
Does the Geo Cruiser models require assembly?
Both models come fully assembled. All you need to do is decide if you want to connect the joystick controller to the right or left armrest. The process to install it takes around 3 minutes. Then you just unfold the unit, place the seat covers in position, and you're ready to go.
Can the Geo Cruiser models fit in my car?
The Geo Cruiser DX and the Elite EX model were deigned to easily be transported in most vehicles.
Is the backrest adjustable?
Yes, it features a four-position backrest that can be adjusted to fit your comfort level.
Is the footrest adjustable?
Yes. It has a three-position footrest that is easily adjusted to accomodate your height and comfort.
Does the Geo Cruiser have a Freewheel option?
Yes. You can easily go into Freewheel model by simply moving the brake relase to Freewheel as show in the image below.
How long does it take to charge the batteries?
We recommend you charge the batteies for 7-8 hours. The battery charger supplied with the Geo Cruiser has an automatic shut-off to prevent overcharging.

How long will it take to receive the product after I order?
We will ship the same day if ordered before 12PM Pacific Standard Time. Actual transit time will be up to five business days depending on the state that you live in. An example would be 1-2 days to California, 4 days to Illinois, and five business days to New York or Florida.
Do you ship Internationally?
Yes. We ship Internationally using Federal Express Economy Air Service. We have special rates. An example would be shipping to certain parts of Europe for as little as $400.00.
How will I know when the product will arrive?
When we ship, we provide a Federal Express tracking number via email. If you do not have an email address, we will call you to provide the tracker number by phone.
Is the tax included?
We only charge tax for transactions in the state of California.
Will I need to pay Customs Duties or Import Tax (VAT) on my purchase with International Delivery?
When shipping internationally, for shipments outside of the US, you will be responsible for paying duties and taxes. In some rare instances you might also be responsible for paying customs clearance fees.
Do I have to pay for shipping?
Shipping is included when you order Geo Cruiser and is shipped within the US. It is not included when the unit is shipped to alaska, hawaii or internationally . The cost will be based on the shipping address.
Do you rent any models out?
No.
Are there any used Geo Cruisers available for purchase?
From time to time we do have demos or reconditioned units for purchase at a discounted rate.
I am trying to place my order online but keep getting Credit Card Declined messages, why?
There a several reasons why your transaction may have been decline. One being that you may not be aware that you don’t have the sufficient funds necessary. Another is that sometimes a bank may decline purchase as a safety measure to protect from fraudulent activity because of the amount of said purchase. Or there may be a hold on your account. To resolve any of these problems, please contact your bank and discuss the matter with them. Once resolved you are welcome to go back to our website to try your transaction again.

Maintenance
Is there any maintenance that is needed for my Geo Cruiser?
Located in your user manual, there is a page fully dedicated to any maintenance that is needed on our chairs. If you lose or misplace this, we have provided it here below.
If I lost my toolkit, can I my own tools from home?
This is allowed provided that you use the correct sizes. We recommend you call us so we can give you the proper metic tools. Note that is imperative that you use metric sizes ONLY to prevent stripping of parts.

Will I need to sign for my package in order to receive it?
Yes.
Returns
Does it cost anything to return my unit?
If you are returning the unit within the 30 day return policy, you will have to cover the cost of shipping the unit back. Please note that the unit will have to be shipped back in the original packaging to avoid damage during transit. We can schedule a residential pick up by UPS, which will be charged at a lower rate than going into a UPS or Federal Express retail location.
